Collection laboratory
The workplace is integrated into the Complement of laboratories IHBT. It continuously upholds independent and impartial assessment of professional competence of the Complement of laboratories according to the standard ČSN EN ISO 15189, whose application is verified by the Czech Institute for Accreditation. Examination methods within the scope of accreditation are defined by the attachment to the Accreditation Certificate in the current version, which is available on the website IHBT.
The collection laboratory of the Transfusiology Department provides blood collection and examination of basic blood count on the SYSMEX XN10 analyzer for donors from the Apheresis and Transfusion Department. If necessary, it is possible to examine a 5-part differential leukocyte count. The laboratory also determines erythrocyte sedimentation.
The collection laboratory also performs quality control of already manufactured transfusion products. For this analysis of transfusion products, the analyzer is equipped with a special mode called Blood Bank mode. This mode analyzes elements in transfusion products and counts residual cells in individual transfusion products. We are the first workplace in the Czech Republic that uses this procedure to determine the quality of transfusion products. When checking parameters of freshly manufactured and stored transfusion products, we follow the recommendations of the Council of Europe "Guide to the preparation, use and quality assurance of blood components" and according to the requirements of SÚKL.
For the needs of the Apheresis Department, the collection laboratory also measures cellular preparations (stem cells, photopheresis, etc.).
Employees are bound by confidentiality according to the Law on Health Services, 372/2011 Coll.
