Hospital Ombudsman
Because we value our patients greatly, we have established the position of a hospital ombudsman at UHKT. Situations may arise where patients believe that their rights have been violated or endangered, or conversely, you would like to tell us that you were satisfied with the care provided at UHKT.
Who can contact the ombudsman?
A patient or any visitor to UHKT has the opportunity to visit or contact the hospital ombudsman – the rights advocate – in writing, electronically or by telephone.
What is the mission of the hospital ombudsman?
The hospital ombudsman at UHKT ensures the protection of patients' rights. They provide assistance to patients, their families and close ones in resolving situations arising in connection with treatment and stay in the hospital. At the same time, they strive to ensure smooth communication between patients, their close ones and UHKT staff. They work to improve the quality of health services provided and to maximize patient satisfaction.
What can the hospital ombudsman help you with?
The hospital ombudsman helps patients with processing their suggestions, with difficulties related to the care provided or with suspicion of unethical conduct of employees. They also help in obtaining information that patients need. They mediate communication between the relevant hospital department and the patient or their family, determine the true state of affairs and can arrange for correction. They also accept compliments from patients and their close ones.
The hospital ombudsman is appointed by the director of UHKT and is obliged to maintain confidentiality. The scope of the hospital ombudsman's authority is limited to UHKT.
The hospital ombudsman of UHKT is Mgr.Michal Sýkora, Ph.D.
