Hospital Ombudsman
Because we greatly value our patients, we have established the position of hospital ombudsman in IHBT. Situations may arise where patients believe that their rights have been violated or endangered, or conversely, you would like to tell us that you were satisfied with the care in IHBT.
Who can contact the ombudsman?
A patient or any visitor to IHBT has the opportunity to visit or contact the hospital ombudsman – rights advocate – in writing, electronically or by telephone.
What is the mission of the hospital ombudsman?
The hospital ombudsman in IHBT ensures the protection of patients' rights. They provide assistance to patients, their families and close persons in resolving situations arising in connection with treatment and stay in the hospital. At the same time, they strive to ensure smooth communication between patients, their loved ones and employees of IHBT. They strive to improve the quality of healthcare services provided and to achieve maximum patient satisfaction.
What can the hospital ombudsman help you with?
The hospital ombudsman helps patients with processing their requests, with difficulties related to the care provided or when suspecting unethical behavior by employees. They also help with obtaining information that patients need. They mediate communication between the relevant hospital department and the patient or their family, ascertain the true state of affairs and can arrange for remedies. They also accept compliments from patients and their loved ones.
The hospital ombudsman is appointed by the director of IHBT and is obliged to maintain confidentiality. The jurisdiction of the hospital ombudsman is only within IHBT.
The hospital ombudsman of IHBT is Mgr. Michal Sýkora, Ph.D.
