ÚHKT is a center for highly specialized care of rare hematological diseases.

We treat a range of rare diseases here, meaning diseases that affect perhaps only dozens or hundreds of people throughout the entire Czech Republic.

The Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Rare Congenital and Acquired Disorders of the Red Blood Cell Line operates at ÚHKT. 
The facility provides urgent and consultative care for patients from other countries and various ethnic backgrounds due to the high incidence of some congenital red blood cell disorders in non-European regions as part of cooperation in the European Reference Network as a Center EuroBloodNet.
