Postgraduate education of other healthcare professionals (NLZP) – clinical laboratory technician, general nurse, specialist in laboratory methods

ÚHKT as an accredited higher-level facility in the field of Clinical Haematology and Transfusion Service enables, within the framework of specialized preparation of postgraduate education for NLZP, to complete internships in specialized departments and laboratories (cytogenetics, flow cytometry, molecular genetics, morphology and cytochemistry, coagulation, immunohaematology). Furthermore, ÚHKT has accredited the practical part of specialist module 5 and specialist module 9 of the specialized educational program for general nurses – Nursing Care in Oncology and Haemato-oncology.

Internships are conducted on the basis of tripartite agreements between ÚHKT, the sending organization and the trainee, or bipartite agreements if the trainee is not sent by any organization that covers the costs of the internship. More detailed information about the agreements can be found here.

In postgraduate education in other fields (virology, molecular genetics, clinical biochemistry), secondary school or university graduates who have the required qualifications in the given fields participate as supervisors. 

The function of supervisor for postgraduate education of physicians is governed by the requirements in Regulation 95/2004 § 20. For NLZP they are defined in Regulation 96/2004 § 59 (a supervisor can only be a healthcare professional with specialized competence in the relevant field).
