Information on sampling

What to expect when you come to the transfusion department?

• registration in the database (bring your identity card, proof of valid health insurance in the Czech Republic, donor card)
• familiarization with the document Blood Donor Information
• completion of "Blood Donor Questionnaire"
• blood count examination
• medical examination
• blood collection (if everything is in order)

• a repeat blood donor will spend approximately 1 hour at our transfusion department, a new donor 1–2 hours
• blood collection takes 5–10 minutes
• the standard amount of blood collected is 450 ml
