Students
Postgraduate education of scientific workers
UHKT is intensively engaged in the preparation of postgraduate students. Postgraduate scientific training is organized in cooperation with the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University (UK) and with other university workplaces. Doctoral and diploma students are trained at individual departments of UHKT and guidance is provided for their dissertation, master's, diploma and bachelor's theses by experts in cooperation with supervisors of doctoral and diploma students. Some university staff from UHKT with the required qualifications are members of subject councils for postgraduate scientific education at various faculties of Charles University and some serve as supervisors of doctoral and diploma students.
Undergraduate medical education
Medical student education is conducted within the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Hematology (UKEH). UKEH was established in 2003 as a joint pedagogical and scientific research workplace of UHKT and the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University. It brings together pedagogical workers from the clinical, research and transfusiological departments of UHKT. It is headed by a director appointed by the director of UHKT and the dean of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University.
UKEH together with the I. Internal Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and VFN provides hematology education in the 5th year of medical studies, participates in teaching pre-state examinations in the 6th year, and offers elective courses focused on malignant diseases of hematopoiesis and transfusiology. We enable students with scientific ambitions to work in specialized laboratories and to conduct diploma theses. UKEH staff strive for a pedagogically innovative approach linking cutting-edge science, quality practical training and a competency-oriented approach across undergraduate, postgraduate and specialized education.
