Biobank UHKT Prague

UHKT Prague Biobank is a research infrastructure that preserves rare samples from patients with impaired hematopoiesis and samples from healthy individuals. UHKT Prague Biobank consists of a Central Sample Reception and Processing facility for biobanking and a facility with robotic systems for sample storage. Samples are processed at the Central Sample Reception and Processing facility for biobanking according to the defined type of material for the given diagnosis. Preserved samples serve planned and future projects of internal and external applicants after proper approval by the Expert Council of UHKT Prague Biobank. The biobank facility is equipped with ASKION C-line® Hermetic Storage robotic systems for storing cryopreserved samples in liquid nitrogen vapor and an ASKION C-line® Work bench programmable freezer.

UHKT Prague Biobank is part of the Czech national node of biobanks BBMRI.cz (National Research Infrastructure of Biobanks and Biomolecular Resources; https://www.bbmri.cz/), which is linked to the European research infrastructure consortium BBMRI-ERIC (https://www.bbmri-eric.eu/).

UHKT Prague Biobank offers its samples and related data for research purposes through the BBMRI Directory catalog. Negotiations about selected samples then take place in the BBMRI Negotiator tool or you can contact the biobank directly.
