Education

The Education Department provides professional training for IHBT employees and participates in organizing internships for external applicants at all levels of education, including students of secondary healthcare schools, medical students, doctoral students, and healthcare workers preparing for specialist training. 

IHBT has education programs approved by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic in the fields of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine (for physicians) and in the field of Clinical Hematology and Transfusion Services for professional laboratory workers (OPLM) and for medical laboratory technicians. In these fields, it is listed as a teaching facility of the Subunit of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine of IPVZ with higher-level accreditation. The head of the Subunit of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine is Prof. MUDr. Jaroslav Čermák, CSc., who is also the guarantor for postgraduate training of physicians in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. The Subunit also participates in education in hematology and transfusion medicine in other medical and non-medical fields where hematology is part of the educational program. It also has an accredited educational program for general nurses in the field of Nursing Care in Oncology and Hematologic Oncology.

Education is provided by specialists from across IHBT as trainers.
