Education

The Education Department provides professional training for IHBT employees and participates in organizing internships for external applicants at all levels of education, for students of secondary health schools, medical students, doctoral candidates, and healthcare professionals preparing for specialist training. 

IHBT has educational programs approved by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic for the fields of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine (for physicians) and in the field of Clinical Hematology and Transfusion Services for professional laboratory method workers (OPLM) and for medical laboratory technicians. In these fields, it is included as a teaching facility of the Subdepartment of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine IPVZ with higher level accreditation. The head of the Subdepartment of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine is Prof. MUDr. Jaroslav Čermák, CSc., who is also the guarantor for postgraduate physician training in the field of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. The Subdepartment also participates in education in hematology and transfusion medicine in other medical and non-medical fields where hematology is part of the educational program. Furthermore, it has an accredited educational program for general nurses in the field of Nursing Care in Oncology and Hematologic Oncology.

Education is provided by specialists throughout IHBT as trainers.
