Department of Proteomics

The Department of Proteomics focuses on characteristics and functions of cellular proteins in relation to the origin, development and treatment of hematological disorders.

We aim to understand the molecular mechanisms regulating the normal and pathological hematopoiesis as well as those mediating the effect of therapeutical procedures. We complete the basic techniques of cell biochemistry, molecular biology and proteome analysis (gel electrophoresis, western-blotting, flow-cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy, preparation and transfection of plasmids for exogenous expression of proteins fused to various tags) by other methods and approaches to get a comprehensive view of the protein behavior.

Besides performing basic and applied research, we also assist in introduction of novel diagnostic methods for hematology.
