How to prepare for a medical procedure or examination

The evening before the blood sample taking, please do not eat fatty food and do not drink alcoholic beverages. The morning before the blood taking, a light breakfast is permitted – only a lightly sugared tea and a bread roll with non-fat cheese or dia marmalade. But, for coagulation, nothing except a bread roll and tea or water.

In the morning, take medications prescribed by your doctor. In case of medications, the levels of which are examined in blood taking and on the basis of which a further dosing of medications – e.g. cyclosporine A (Sandimmun, Consupren) or Prograf – depends,  do not take these medications in the morning, but bring them with you and take them after blood taking.
