Nursing Care

The nursing personnel provide basic, as well as specialized care to patients and to blood and blood components donors.

In practice they follow clearly defined standards that are in accordance with the modern conception of this care in Europe and the world.

Our aim is that patients spend only the absolutely necessary time in our institute. Therefore, we do our best to meet their needs. For this purpose we have:

Department of Physiotherapy

It aims at preserving or improving overall physical fitness for the return to normal life with minimum work limitations. It addresses acute conditions and treatment consequences arising in the course of hospitalization. The main rehabilitation treatment resources indicated for these patients are: respiration physiotherapy, manual medicine and curative rehabilitation focused on influencing the functional deficit.

The nursing team members are also involved in standard and transplantation hematological care of all clinical departments of the IHBT.

Expert Activity of Non-Medical Personnel

Professional growth of nursing personnel occurs in connection with the needs of patients treated both in outpatient and inpatient part of the IHBT. Education of nurses is also supported by the IHBT in in-house specialization training programs, as well as on university ground. Nurses are included in specialization programs on a continuous basis with regard to operational capacity of the various centres.

The participation in short-term training and expert activities is facilitated to staff members depending on organizational and financial possibilities. When individual staff members are selected, their participation in training activities in the previous calendar year is always taken into account. In the course of a year the Nursing Division organizes its own specialized seminars and other training activities.
