Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion
The Biobank IHBT Prague is a research infrastructure, which mission is to collect the samples of patients with haematological disorders as well as samples from healthy donors. The Biobank IHBT Prague is comprised a workplace of the Central evidence and sample processing and a workplace with robotic systems for cryopreservation. The samples are processed in the Central evidence and sample processing for biobanking according to the type of biological material and diagnosis. Stored samples are intended for the projects approved by the Expert board of the Biobank IHBT Prague. The biobank is equipped with two automated storage systems ASKION C-line® Hermetic Storage allowing to store samples in the cryogenic temperatures at down to -185°C. For sample processing and freezing serves the ASKION C-line® work bench.
The Biobank IHBT Prague is a member of BBMRI.cz - the Czech National Node (https://www.bbmri.cz/) of European biobank infrastructure BBMRI-ERIC (https://www.bbmri-eric.eu/)
The Biobank IHBT Prague offers the samples and the related data through the BBMRI catalogue Directory. The request for samples is made either through the BBMRI Negotiator or the contact person of Biobank.
