Department of Immunomonitoring and flow cytometry

The Department of Immunomonitoring and flow cytometry is a research and technology platform of the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (IHBT) in Prague.

Our research

Our mission is to advance knowledge about interactions between the immune system and malignant cells in hematological malignancies to foster the development of novel personalized immunotherapies that could improve the survival of our patients. We also study the process of immune system regeneration following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) to characterize the importance of individual leukocyte populations in this process. Finally, we also collaborate with Gene Immunotherapy and Advanced Immunotherapy departments to develop and monitor immunotherapies at IHBT.
To achieve the goals of our mission, we implement multi-omics approaches for the complex analysis of immunological markers. The core of our technology is centered around highly advanced flow cytometry, which we combine with proteomics, metabolomics, and genomics.

Technology platform

As a technology platform, we support researchers from our institution in implementing flow cytometric assays in their research.
Our support includes training users to enable them to use our equipment to the maximum extent. We offer a theoretical introduction to cytometry followed up with individual training on our cytometers. We also support our users with data analysis as a service or by providing training for broadly used software (FlowJo, FCS Express). The data analysis service includes the development of custom gating strategies or unsupervised clustering.
To enable fast implementation of cytometry assays, we offer an array of in-house developed deep immune profiling panels for humans and mice as well as custom panel design services.
We actively seek novel technologies and adapt them to the needs of our users to advance their research and foster discoveries.

Collaboration

Sharing of knowledge is at the heart of our department. As flow cytometry and immunology enthusiasts, we want to bring advanced flow cytometry to the broad scientific community. We are therefore open to collaboration with academic institutions and private companies, to which we offer access to our equipment and technologies.

We offer:

  • expertise in flow cytometry and immunology
  • flow cytometry assays, including custom panel design
  • data analysis services (supervised and unsupervised)
  • cytometer setup and characterization to get your lab up and running
