Department of Cell Chimerism

The Department of Cell Chimerism is primarily focused on the examination of chimerism levels in blood and bone marrow in patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

For these purposes, we perform genotyping and quantification of variable polymorphisms called Short Tandem Repeats (STR) and short insertions and deletions (indel). In the case of disease relapse in patients with HLA haploidentical or partially HLA non-matching donors, we can distinguish whether classic or HLA-loss relapse occurs.

The Department of Cell Chimerism is part of NRL for DNA Diagnostics, we offer consulting services and annually we organize interlaboratory comparisons of examinations.
