Cell Physiology Department

Administrative and personal data about the department.

Department of Cell Physiology centers its interest upon the theoretical and practical aspects of blood-cell formation. The molecular events that play role in the regulation of hematopoesis and may be related to the development of blood disorders are the main object of research.

The Department provides also specialized diagnostics, based on in vitro cultivation of hemopoietic progenitor cells. This examination is helpful in diagnosis of hemopoietic disorders and quality control of blood-forming cells for transplantation. The Department provides such examination to interested facilities all over the country, carrying out progenitor-cell cultivation assays in over 1000 patients yearly.
