Coordinating Centre of Genetic Laboratories
"Coordinating center for organisation of laboratory examination by molecular genetic and cytogenetic assays in the Czech Republic " (CC) has been established by the Ministry of Health in April 2004. It is part of the Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion and by its activity is responsible to the Society of Medical Genetics (SLG LS JEP). The CC attends to the distribution of information of the field, cares for the register of molecular genetic and cytogenetic laboratories in the Czech republic and takes part in the organization of external quality control schemes (EQA/PT) at the national and international level. CC organizes the National Conference on DNA diagnostics in cooperation with SLG LS JEP. Colaborates with international organizations, in the first place with professional societes (ESHG, ECA atd.), and institutions like OECD, EMQN, Eurogentest, Orphanet, GeneTests.
- Inst.Hematol.Blood Transfusion administrates database of laboratories in the Czech Republic by providing current information on genetic testing and its use in diagnosis, including links to other international sources of information.
- CC In cooperation with the Czech Soc.Med.Genet. has established minimal limits for personal qualification (in Czech language) of molecular genetic and cytogenetic laboratories
- CC informes yearly about national and international Schemes of external quality assessment EQA/PTi.
